The Smillies

While Dennis and Janet had their own musical lives long before they met, it was a chance encounter at a Sunday blues jam at the famous Johnny D’s in Somerville, Mass that set them on their combined road.  That meeting blossomed into marriage and a musical partnership that has thrived for the past 19 years.  Janet can sing the blues with anyone, she can turn her powerhouse vocals into angelic voice and she covers all styles in between.  Dennis, known for his unique finger picking style, plays electric, acoustic, dobro, slide, piano and lap steel guitar, and his playing is rooted in the blues and country rock.  Prior to moving to the Pocono Mountains, they fronted the acclaimed Philadelphia blues band “The Dress Blues Band”.  They are known for the collective energy they bring to the stage, and the energy they create for the crowd when they turn it loose.
